Gorgeous set of five Royal Crown Derby gadroon demitasse cups and saucers in the Asian Rose pattern. Bands of florals in an imari colored palette of gold, blue and red dance around the cups.
The rims are tightly scalloped and accented with a delightful, irregular border of gilded loops. The heavily gilded designs seem almost dimensional. The cups are can shaped, and were originally meant for coffee -- they are larger than a typical demitasse.Measurements: cups are 2 3/8" wide by 2 1/2" deep. Saucers are 4 5/8 wide. The set is from an estate and was used. One cup is stained on the inside.
Marks: The set has the back stamp in use from 1921 through 1964. The item "Royal Crown Derby Asian Rose Demitasse Cups, Gadroon, Set of Five, 1921-1964" is in sale since Wednesday, March 7, 2018. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Pottery & China\China & Dinnerware\Royal Crown Derby".
