Circa 1786 DERBY Porcelain With Early Puce Mark Pattern #65 Platter / Tray. Background : The Derby pattern #65 is famous because it was decorated in 1786 by William Billingsley for the Prince of Wales (later King George IV).

Pattern #65 features a single pink rose and a group of small forget-me-nots with either a dawn pink border (Prince of Wales set) or a darker salmon pink border (regular pattern #65). This tray for sale here has a very light pink colored border, not sure if it is the dawn or salmon pink variety. We photographed the tray with a colored photo scale for your reference. Size : 9.5 long x 7.25 wide x 1-3/8 tall at rim. Condition : On the inside footring is gold gilders mark #8 for William Longden.

The plate has rubbing to the gold gilding & pink ground and utensil marks and a couple of small glaze pops (small round holes in glaze), small black inclusions in the porcelain body, and other typical use-wear for an antique item of this age. No chips or cracks or repairs. Our color photographic scale has primary Red/Green/Yellow colors to help you better determine the true color of this object. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.

Unless otherwise noted, the items for sale in our auctions are antique or vintage, pre-owned, and will show signs of usage wear such as utensil scratches.
